Our Instructors

Beanland Taekwon-Do has a team of highly trained and experienced instructors who strive to deliver a high quality Taekwon-Do experience to every student.

Master Chris Beanland - 8th Degree Black Belt

Master Beanland is a 8th degree black belt in ITF Taekwon-Do and a fully qualified International Instructor. He commenced training in 1983, winning his first competition in 1984 and achieving his 1st Dan Black Belt in 1987. He has won one world Gold medal and three world Silver medals along with over a 100 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in European, British, Scottish, Irish and English Championships also numerous local and Freestyle medals plus a team member International Team which won 3rd place in the five nations International team event! He started his teaching in 1990 becoming a professional martial artist in 2005, also he delivers self-defence' enrichment and anti bullying courses in schools. He was a college tutor for the SIA conflict-management course for door supervisors and director of a conflict management training company.

Mr James Waddington - 6th Degree Black Belt

Mr Waddington is a 6th degree black belt with many years of Taekwon-Do experience and a fully qualified International Instructor.

Mr Matt Storey - 3rd Degree Black Belt
Mr Storey is a 3rd degree black belt with 15 years of Taekwon-Do experience. Having started training in World Taekwon-Do (WT) at the age of 5, he moved to the ITF style in 2009. He has competed at numerous competitions including the World Championships in 2019 where he won silver and bronze medals for patterns and sparring. Mr Storey has become an instructor under Master Beanland's tutelage, is coach for the competition fight team and is able to deliver level 1 self-defence courses.
